Are you a qualified MOT Tester who also enjoys getting stuck into mechanical work?

We're looking for an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join a busy and friendly automotive workshop in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity for a Level 3 qualified technician who wants a varied role where you can utilise your MOT licence while also carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.

You'll need to be flexible and comfortable working in a busy environment, switching between MOT testing and technician duties depending on the daily workload.

The Role
As an MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician, you'll carry out MOT tests while supporting the workshop with servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs when MOT demand is quieter.

Your responsibilities will include:
andmiddot;Carrying out MOT Testing to DVSA standards
andmiddot;Testing tyres, wheel alignment, exhausts and batteries
andmiddot;Inspecting suspension and braking systems
andmiddot;Carrying out basic and advanced mechanical repairs
andmiddot;Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults
andmiddot;Completing servicing and routine maintenance
andmiddot;Switching between MOT Testing and technician duties according to workshop demand
andmiddot;Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
andmiddot;Working efficiently without compromising workmanship
andmiddot;Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying additional work required
andmiddot;Ensuring vehicles are completed within agreed timescales
andmiddot;Delivering excellent customer service

About You
We're looking for a qualified and experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician who is flexible, hardworking and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.

You will ideally have:
andmiddot;Valid MOT Tester Licence - Class 4
andmiddot;Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
andmiddot;Previous experience as an MOT Tester, Vehicle Technician or Vehicle Mechanic
andmiddot;Strong knowledge of servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
andmiddot;Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability
andmiddot;Experience working to DVSA MOT standards
andmiddot;A positive and flexible approach to your workload
andmiddot;Excellent attention to detail
andmiddot;Ability to maintain productivity while maintaining high-quality standards
andmiddot;Strong customer service skills
andmiddot;Ability to work effectively as part of a team
andmiddot;Full UK Driving Licence
