Job Description
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading social housing provider for an experienced-Temporary Accommodation Officer in Shaftesbury-to provide proactive housing management and support to residents at risk of homelessness.
The role will involve working closely with individuals and families in temporary accommodation, helping them-maintain their tenancy, maximise their income and progress towards secure, permanent housing.

The role will involve working closely with individuals and families in temporary accommodation, helping them-maintain their tenancy, maximise their income and progress towards secure, permanent housing.
Key Responsibilities of a Tmporary Accommodation Officer:
- Manage a caseload of residents in temporary accommodation, providing-housing advice, guidance and tenancy sustainment support.
- Work with residents on a one-to-one basis to develop-personal housing plans-and support their move towards permanent accommodation.
- Provide advice and assistance with-Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, PIP, appeals and income maximisation.
- Monitor rent accounts and arrears, working with residents and Customer Accounts teams to establish sustainable payment and budgeting plans.
- Manage tenancy terminations, voids and allocations, helping to minimise void turnaround times.
- Respond proactively to-ASB, nuisance, harassment and safeguarding concerns, working with relevant teams and external agencies.
- Undertake regular accommodation and scheme inspections, monitor repairs and ensure properties and communal areas remain safe and well maintained.
- Maintain accurate housing and customer records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and data requirements.
- Work collaboratively with supported housing teams, local authorities, social services, health professionals and voluntary-sector providers.
- Experience within-housing, supported housing, homelessness, temporary accommodation or a related care/support environment.
- Good knowledge of housing management, tenancy sustainment and relevant housing legislation.
- Experience working with-vulnerable residents and complex needs, with an understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches.
- Knowledge of-welfare benefits and financial inclusion, including Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and manage sensitive conversations.
- Experience managing ASB, tenancy issues and safeguarding concerns.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with partner agencies.
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate customer and housing records.
