A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its Key Stage 1 team from 2nd November.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with younger pupils and has a genuine interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN). You'll provide targeted support to children who need additional help accessing learning, developing confidence and engaging positively with school life.

Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you will help create a supportive and engaging learning environment across KS1.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group SEN support within Key Stage 1
• Helping pupils access classroom learning and participate in lessons
• Supporting children with additional learning, communication and developmental needs
• Reinforcing phonics, early literacy and numeracy skills
• Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement
• Adapting activities and resources to suit individual needs
• Supporting pupils' social development, confidence and independence
• Helping implement individual learning and support strategies
• Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and wider support team

The school is looking for a patient, proactive and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships with children and provide consistent support.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant
• Experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting
• A good understanding of the needs of pupils in KS1
• Confidence supporting learning and managing behaviour positively
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A nurturing approach and a genuine commitment to inclusion

Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs or SEMH would be particularly beneficial.
