Site Engineer (Structures) - National Highways Scheme
Location: Gloucester
Contract: 3-6 months
Rate: £400-£450 per day (Inside IR35)
The opportunity
Carrington West is recruiting a Site Engineer with a structures focus for a National Highways scheme in Gloucester. You'll join a delivery team working on a major highways improvement project. Your focus will be the setting-out, supervision and quality control of structures works, such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls and reinforced concrete elements.
Key responsibilities
andmiddot;Set out and survey structures works using GPS, total station and level
andmiddot;Supervise reinforced concrete works on site, including formwork, steel fixing and concrete pours
andmiddot;Check works against drawings, specifications and the Specification for Highway Works (SHW)
andmiddot;Complete and keep up quality records, including ITPs, pour records, as-builts and handover documents
andmiddot;Work with subcontractors, temporary works coordinators and design teams to make sure works are delivered safely and correctly
andmiddot;Raise technical queries and resolve design issues with the project team
andmiddot;Follow health, safety and environmental standards, including RAMS briefings and site inspections
andmiddot;Keep accurate daily diaries, progress records and quantities
About you
andmiddot;Site Engineer experience on highways or civil engineering projects, with a good background in structures
andmiddot;National Highways or major infrastructure experience is highly desirable
andmiddot;Confident with setting-out and survey equipment (GPS, total station, level)
andmiddot;Good understanding of reinforced concrete construction and temporary works
andmiddot;Familiar with quality systems and highways specifications
andmiddot;Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
andmiddot;CSCS card required; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid desirable
andmiddot;Full UK driving licence
