Health & Safety Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced H&S Manager to join an established and growing construction business operating across the North of England.
The role will provide hands-on health and safety support across civil engineering, infrastructure and utilities projects, working closely with site teams, project managers, subcontractors and senior management.
The business delivers a broad range of civil engineering works including groundworks, earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and sewers, utilities, remediation and infrastructure projects.
The Role
- Provide day-to-day H&S leadership across multiple construction projects.
- Carry out site inspections, audits and investigations.
- Review and monitor RAMS, CPPs and other H&S documentation.
- Ensure compliance with CDM and current UK H&S legislation.
- Work closely with site management and subcontractors to maintain high standards.
- Support risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and H&S training.
- Monitor and improve site safety performance and reporting.
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the business.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Provide practical H&S advice across civils and infrastructure projects.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a construction/civil engineering H&S role.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of CDM, RAMS and construction-site safety.
- Experience working with subcontractors and site management teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach to health and safety.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- A full UK driving licence.
