Seymour John are supporting a growing business, based in Oldbury, who are looking to strengthen their finance team with the appointment of an experienced Accounts Assistant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation, taking ownership of day-to-day transactional finance processes while working closely with colleagues across the wider business.
The Opportunity
You will support the day-to-day running of the accounts function, with responsibilities including:
- Managing key purchase ledger activities, ensuring supplier accounts are accurate and up to date
- Processing customer invoices, receipts and sales ledger transactions
- Assisting with account reconciliations and resolving supplier and customer queries
- Supporting payment runs and maintaining accurate financial records
- Producing regular reports for management and assisting with month-end processes
- Providing general finance and administrative support to the wider team as required
Personal Profile
We are looking for candidates to have:
- Previous experience in a transactional finance role, with strong exposure to both purchase ledger and sales ledger activities
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good communication skills with the confidence to liaise with colleagues and external contacts
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider finance team when required
